How International A Levels work
Pearson Edexcel International A Levels are modular qualifications, which means each subject is divided into separate units.
Students study each unit individually and complete an exam for that unit. Once all of the required units have been completed, the results are combined to award the full qualification.
As a general guide:
International AS Level: usually 2–3 units
International A Level: usually 4–6 units
The exact number of units depends on the subject.
Each course listing clearly shows which unit you are studying, the unit code, and which units are required for the AS and full A Level qualification.
Study one unit at a time
Because the qualification is modular, students can work through each unit separately and sit the corresponding exam when ready.
This gives students greater flexibility to spread their studies and exams across different examination series rather than taking every paper at once.
Sit exams online from home
Many Pearson Edexcel International AS and A Level units can be taken from home through Eureka Homeschool with remote invigilation.
